Sponsor announced for SGA Youth competition

The SGA Youth Committee is delighted to receive generous sponsorship of its first 7-a-side competition trophy from International Hunting Scotland

This weekend (Sat 31st May) the inaugural SGAYC Fun 7-a-side tournament will take place at Donaldson Park, Milnathort, and the elegant glass trophy is up for grabs for the lucky winners

International Hunting Scotland - Scotland's Sporting Agency of the Year 2024 - kindly stepped in to offer support and endorsement, as the teams get their boots on for field sport of a different kind!

*(Perthshire comedian and 'fermer', Jim Smith, has described the event on X (formerly Twitter) as 'the teuchter World Cup'.

Proud to support

“International Hunting Scotland under the current ownership of Cara Hutchens and previous ownership of Founder, Peter Swales, has had a long and happy working relationship with many shooting, stalking and fishing venues and estates throughout Scotland.

The Company is proud to support the work of the SGA and hopes that the new football tournament will be a great success for many years to come!”

There is still time for final teams to register and the £10 per player entry fee can be paid on the day, with teams meeting at 9am.

(NB: individuals keen to play but without a team can still register and be allocated a team on the day). Email info@scottishgamekeepers.co.uk before Friday to register

The SGAYC is grateful to Kinross Colts FC for enabling the use of Donaldson Park and the excellent clubhouse facility for the event (above).

Not only that, the Colts have entered two youth teams and are likely to be amongst the early bookmakers’ favourites for the maiden title.

A big shout out also goes to Craigie Saints from Perth who are entering a team of vintage former all-stars with a smattering of youth!

Look out, too, for the 2 gamekeeper teams and an ‘eclectic’ outfit assembled from SGA HQ. The SGA Office team is likely to need all the support (medical/moral/emotional/all of the above) it can get so please come down in number and enjoy a great family event, with food and drink and a raffle as well as excellent sporting viewing!

Even if you are not competing, it promises to be a hoot.

All funds raised will go towards the SGAYC’s educational film work which will get underway in the second half of 2025.
