Nominate NOW for the 2025 Awards

Finnley Struthers is Scotland's best Young Gamekeeper, 2024

It’s time to nominate your heroes for the 2025 SGA Awards

Last year we introduced a brand new prize, the SGA Fishing Group Wild Salmon Conservation Award which was shared between the Allt Lorgy Project and the work of Bob Kindness (below) on the River Carron.

Bob Kindness' work on the Carron was honoured by the Scottish Gamekeepers Association

At GWCT Scottish Game Fair it was young Finnley Struthers from Millden (pictured, top of article) collecting the coveted SGA Young Gamekeeper of the Year award while we had a double celebration for Allen Kerr at Moy as he collected both his Long Service Medal and the Ronnie Rose Award, alongside fellow Long Service winner Ian McDonald (below).

Now it’s time to get the nominations in again.

The Young Gamekeeper of the Year Award recognises individuals in the early stages of their career who are youthful ambassadors for gamekeeping, deer and wildlife management or river ghilllie-ing.

Our Ronnie Rose Award for Conservation and Education honours an individual or individuals who have created a lasting legacy in conservation or education on land or river.

The SGA Fishing Group Wild Salmon Conservation award is for individuals or projects that are making a difference at a time when salmon are classed as endangered in the UK.

Lastly, the Long Service awards celebrate individuals who have given an unbroken 40 years or more of service to the profession on land or river.

Please nominate your heroes now. The deadline for the Awards is Friday June 20th, 2025.
