We are looking forward to welcoming all members and visitors
Fergus Ewing will be on hand to present our awards, on the SGA stand, on Friday at 11am, and we are delighted to have the local constituency MSP with us - and a long-standing supporter of Scotland’s field sports
It’s not any ordinary presentation, either
On Friday we are giving out the inaugural SGA Wild Salmon Conservation Award AND the Ronnie Rose award in a double billing, not to mention two Long Service awards
Our SGA Youth Committee and Fishing Groups will be represented on the stand over the course of the weekend so make sure you ask any questions about being a young person in the industry today, or the quest to ensure our rivers still run with iconic salmon in the years to come
Dr James Fenton will be with us, selling his thought-provoking book, Landscape Change in the Scottish highlands: Imagination and Reality, published by Whittles Publishing https://www.whittlespublishing.com/Landscape_Change_in_the_Scottish_Highlands
As ever, we will have a warm SGA welcome with tea, coffee and home baking as well as our highly popular venison burger stand; the venison sourced by skilled SGA deer managers from local hills
If you want to join the SGA or renew an existing membership, you can do so over the weekend
SGA membership, which includes a range of insurance for your shooting activities, remains one of the cheapest and best value memberships in the UK today and our staff will help you with any queries
We will also have banded merchandise and accessories for sale
