Working on a busy, highly successful commercial

The terrain includes steep sided valleys and remote areas.

Beat Keeper

Maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene, animal welfare and health and safety

The work includes:

  • Working on a large rearing field with partridge and pheasant chicks from day old to release
  • Building release pens
  • Ability to whistle feed Pheasants to establish them in drives, hand feeding daily
  • Feeding partridges and Pheasants on the hill
  • Assisting in running the beating line on shoot days
  • Team working qualities are essential

Under Keeper

The role might suit a recent college leaver, or someone looking to start a career in gamekeeping. The role will provide development opportunities.

Working on a busy, highly successful commercial reporting to the Head keeper

The terrain includes steep sided valleys and remote areas.

Role includes:

  • Maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene, animal welfare and health and safety
  • Working on a large rearing field with partridge and pheasant chicks from day old to release
  • Building release pens
  • Helping beat keepers and the Head Keeper feed partridges and Pheasants on the hill
  • Working in the beating line on shoot days

Team working qualities are essential

Driving licence is preferable.

Firearm and shotgun certificate are essential

Training will be provided as required including ATV training

Cottage accommodation will be provided
