Grouse/Stalker position - Ralia Estate, Inverness-shire

North Drumochter - Beat 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Beatkeeper to join our team on one of Scotland’s most challenging grouse moors covering the Drumochter Pass. The Drumochter hills are part of Ralia Estate’s driven grouse moors which are famed for their spectacular contours and challenging high grouse. Deer stalking is also a required part of the position. We take pride in our well invested moor which still has exciting further potential. The successful applicant must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, committed and passionate about their job.

Role Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in grouse and deer management
  • Full driving, shotgun and firearms licences
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team working qualities are essential
  • Ability to work independently when required
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of general maintenance
  • Have a professional approach to all aspects of job
  • Working gundogs

  • Responsibility for maintaining the highest of standards on your own beat
  • Vermin control
  • Assisting with driven days and a busy shoot calendar
  • Helping to maintain good relationships with neighbouring estates and stakeholders
  • Deer management
