Moy Country Fair

Team SGA would like to thank everyone who visited us at Moy Country Fair and hope you enjoyed the two days.

It was great to see people and, despite a few downpours during set-up day, the sporadic showers didn’t spoil the fare.

From beginning to end, there was a lively atmosphere in the tent. (pic: Chairman Alex Hogg cuts a special anniversary cake marking the organisation's 25 years, made by the wonderful Crafty Cakes by LJ).

Thoughts and ideas were shared and it was great to see members meeting each other again and enjoying the craic and the usual warm hospitality provided as ever by the hard-working Hazel, Gemma and the young helper team (all volunteers) as well as everyone involved in sourcing (thanks to all estates who donated) and cooking top quality Scottish venison burgers and bacon rolls (Speyside Catering). A special thanks to Dunmaglass Estate for the wonderful home baking.

Thanks also to everyone who made the tent a busy place as we handed out the 2022 Young Gamekeeper of the Year award to Cole Stewart of Black Corries Estate as well as three Long Service medals to Angus Cameron, Jimmy Miller and Ronnie Kippen.

You can see Ronnie being interviewed about his 52 years in gamekeeping, below.

Here is a pictorial round-up from the show. Until 2023… NB: If award winners wish to get copies of their images, please contact carol@scottishgamekeepers.co.uk and she will email them to you.
