The SGA will award the 2022 Ronnie Rose Award for Conservation and Education at 11.30am on Friday July 1st at the SGA stand at the GWCT Scottish Game Fair.

All members, supporters, friends, family and visitors are cordially invited to the stand for the award ceremony and speeches.

We will also present a Long Service Medal to a highly experienced individual who has given over 40 unbroken years of service to the game sector on a Scottish island.

The weather forecast for Friday is sunshine with passing light showers and highs of 17 degrees so it should be a good day to get out and enjoy the show.

If there should be a passing spot of rain, there is warm hospitality and home-baked refreshments on the SGA stand.

We will also be asking members for their opinions on key priorities and challenges facing the sector, from the impacts of Bird Flu to the proposed restrictions on the use of dogs for upland fox control.

The SGA is also appreciative of the generosity of Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust who have given the SGA a limited allocation of free tickets for SGA members for the ‘listen to the land’ events at the Game Fair.

The Fair is celebrating a ‘Year of Stories’ with guest speaking slots in different tents across the three days.

The eclectic programme can be viewed, here: https://www.flipsnack.com/nexus24/gwct-scotland-scottish-game-fair-digital-brochure/full-view.html

You can also get a flavour of what’s on by watching the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11iHK5J-9CQ There truly is something for everyone.

If you want to attend any of the events, please email ilaing@gwct.org.uk and reserve a place for your chosen talk, saying that you are part of the limited SGA allocation.

When the reservations are gone, they are gone ——- so don’t hang about!
