Key Responsibilities:
- Deer Stalking: Conduct responsible and ethical deer stalking, adhering to best
practices and regulations.
- Deer Population Management: Contribute to the development and implementation of
deer management plans, ensuring sustainable populations .Representing the estate at Deer Management
Groups.
- Estate Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance of fences, drainage, roads and
other infrastructure.
- Visitor Experience: Play a role in ensuring a positive experience for guests
- Conservation: Support and lead ongoing conservation initiatives on the estate.
- Machinery Operation: Operate and maintain machinery as required, including vehicles
and equipment.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with the team, owners and agents.
- Wildlife monitoring and leading on opportunities for habitat
enhancement including wet lands, species rich grassland, river catchment management,
management of muirburn.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in deer stalking and deer management.
- Strong knowledge of deer biology and behaviour.
- Knowledge of local flora & fauna, conservation principles & environmental regulations
- Experience in estate maintenance
- Ability to operate and maintain machinery.
- A passion for the outdoors and conservation.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- A full UK driving licence and relevant tickets
- Health and safety focused approach.
