Dalchosnie & Kynachan Estate Keeper

A single-handed keeper is required for a family estate near Loch Rannoch in Highland Perthshire. The estate maintains an open hill stalking enterprise over 7,000 acres, so a proven track record of open hill stalking and deer management are essential. There is also an ambitious and on-going project to re-establish walked-up grouse on two once productive moors, so genuine experience of all aspects of grouse management is important. In addition to sport, there is a sizeable and expanding in-hand farming enterprise consisting of pedigree Highland Cattle and Blackface Sheep.

Above all, the successful candidate should thrive on responsibility, must be highly motivated and have the drive, determination and initiative to successfully implement a challenging programme with little on-going direction.  They should be able to work independently but also as part of a team when required.

Applicants will be expected to hold DSC Level 1 as a minimum, FAC/SGC, and a valid driving license. Other relevant training qualifications such as Argo/Quad, chainsaw operator, snaring/trapping, emergency first aid and DSC2 would be highly beneficial. Experience of sheep management for tick mopping and working with Highland Cattle would be highly desirable.

Excellent terms and conditions are available for the right candidate, which will include a comfortable house with outbuildings and kennels.

Please apply with CV to: dalchosnieandkynachankeeper@gmail.com
