We have a family shoot near Arbroath which normally consists of five shoots per season. Pheasants are put down and we aim to have bags of around 150 per shoot.

This position would suit someone who is retired and looking for some extra work and who resides locally.  

Conditions etc are excellent, however no house available just now.

SEASONAL GHILLIE – RIVER NESS                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

Seasonal Ghillie required to work on Dochfour beat of River Ness on full time basis (6 days/week) from 29th April to 18th October.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person with a keen interest in fly fishing who is willing to learn from the Head Ghillie.  Duties will include accompanying guests on the river and maintenance of huts and banks.  Experience of working with boats would be an advantage.

Full time Game Keeper, Pheasant, Red and Grey Partridge and some Ducks.

Balmanno Estate, south Perthshire.

Single handed full time keeper required for private family shoot, proven experience and competence to work alone to manage wildlife including a grey partridge reintroduction programme and wild bird conservation programme, and present 2,000 released pheasants, 400 red-leg partridges and a few mallard on alternate weekend shoots through the season. Applicants will be required to undertake additional duties out of season when game keeping duties diminish. The salary offered is reflective of this.

Applicants with additional skills which will be useful to the estate will be considered favourably, such skills would include any skills used on a traditional in-hand farming estate which has let properties to manage and maintain. For instance; tractor and trailer driving, fencing, tree establishment and felling and preparation of fuel.

We offer a recently refurbished oil heated 3 bedroom house, bathroom and separate shower room and toilet, study, large utility room. Sheds, garage and serviced plinth for kennels.

Please be aware that this position is for a mature, experienced person with full clean driving licence, FAC, SGC, etc and additional skills, please do not apply unless you have these fundamentals.

An experienced  beatkeeper is sought to join our professional team to run a beat of the grouse moor on our mixed sporting enterprise. The successful applicant must have 5 years’ experience in grouse management with some stalking experience an advantage.   Membership of a well-resourced team together with excellent terms and conditions are available for right candidate.

A Head Keeper is required for a traditional sporting estate on the Isle of Arran.  They will form an integral part of the Owners vision to establish a first class shoot, maintaining the prestigious red deer herd and carrying out other duties such as vermin control.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10/15 years of gamekeeping experience, be highly motivated, willing to learn and have good communication/people skills.  They should be able to work both independently or as part of a team and be well organised.  Applicants will be required to hold the following certification: DMQ levels 1 & 2, Firearms/shotgun certificates and a valid driving license.  Other relevant training qualifications would be beneficial. Experience of managing seasonal or young assistants would be highly advantageous.

 Experienced beat keeper required to join existing team on Hunthill Estate (Angus Glens)

Applicants should ideally have three years’ experience, with the ability to work both independently or as part of a team managing a grouse beat. Full driving license, firearms and shotgun certificates are essential; relevant training certificates would be beneficial. Recently graduated Elmwood College Gamekeeping Student - Position Wanted

Recently graduated Elmwood College student where he was studying gamekeeping

From college he gained qualifications and valuable experience in the gamekeeping industry. He gained his Safe Shot qualification, Deer Biology and Quarry Species. He also gained experience in Deer Stalking, caring for and feeding pheasants and also running our own shoot on our estate. Also through this he has gained good communication skills and confidence.
