The SGA recently asked members through its social media channels what they would like to see more, or less, of, in terms of the forthcoming new website (online in 2013) and other communications.
From the responses, the idea of a return to an open forum was popular amongst members and the SGA is keen to ensure people have a voice on pertinent issues affecting them.
Taking this recommendation on board, it was decided that, due to the hours required to administer a forum in public space ie: through the website, Facebook or other social media, we would instead invite members to raise issues, points or personal experiences through our quarterly magazine, Scottish Gamekeeper.
This would enable all correspondence to be handled through one central point, making it easier to administer and allowing for quicker answers, if required.
So, if you have issues you want to raise, if there is something you want to applaud or call for a re-think on, or if you just want to send in stories of great days on the hill or river or even poems like the excellent one from Isla Beaton in the last issue, please send them by email to the magazine editor on ks.writer@virgin.net
Alternatively, you can mail any letter to The Editor, Scottish Gamekeeper, The Scottish Gamekeepers Association, Arran House, Arran Road, Perth, Scotland PH1 3DZ.
The first ‘Your Page’ will appear in the next edition of Scottish Gamekeeper, out in February 2013. Good luck and get thinking.
