The deadline to enter this year's Scottish Gamekeepers Association themed photographic competition has been put back one week to Monday May 7th 2012.
Judges have received some stunning images so far from members but hope to extend the range before making a final decision in the week after the new closing date.
"The pictures we have received so far have been of excellent quality," said a member of the judging team.
"What we are really now looking at is getting a good mix of images. The key then is for anyone with a camera to go out and get a shot this weekend that could be the winner. Wildlife and nature photography is a real niche and who knows where winning the SGA photo competition could take a budding snapper!"
The twelve photos that the judges agree are the best will feature in next year's SGA calendar and the best overall image will win a year's free subscription to the SGA and some official merchandise.
Judges are looking for images taken by amateur photographers that fit this year's theme of
Scottish Gamekeepers :- The future
The theme is open to interpretation. It could be your children enjoying the things you do for a living, trees you've planted to make a woodland for shooting in future years, young wildlife on your patch, in fact anything at all that you consider to be our future.
We ask that any children photographed are either your own or that you have written permission from their parents that you can include with your entry (this is a legal requirement).
We need photos to be of sufficient size so that they can be printed to a high standard and must insist on a minimum pixel dimension of 3000 pixels x 2000 pixels, or from a minimum of a six megapixel camera on high quality size setting.
Good luck and get snapping.
